Passport photos for $1
Take a photo against a plain wall. BuckBooth sizes it to the official rules, checks it, and gives you a digital file and a 4×6 print sheet. Print the sheet at a pharmacy for well under a dollar.
- One payment of $1. No subscription.
- Your photo stays on your device.
- Free to try — pay only when the checks pass.

How to take a photo that passes
- Stand about 4 ft (1.2 m) in front of a plain white or light wall, facing a window.
- Have someone else take the photo at eye level. Include your shoulders.
- Glasses off, hair away from your eyes, neutral expression, mouth closed.
- No filters, beauty mode or portrait blur. Use the original file, not a screenshot.

How it works
-
Take the photo
Plain light wall, someone else holding the phone at eye level, glasses off.
-
Line it up
We find your face and frame it. Guides and checks show exactly what passes.
-
Pay $1 and print
Download the digital file and the 4×6 sheet. Order a normal 4×6 print and cut on the marks.
Private by design
Framing, checks and file creation all run in your browser. We never receive your photo, so there is nothing of yours to leak, sell or delete. The face-detection model is downloaded to your device the first time you use it.
Made for the rules you are checked against
Each document uses the measurements published by the issuing authority, with links to the source and the date we checked it. Read the requirements for U.S. passports, U.S. visas, UK passports and Schengen visas.
Questions
Will my photo be accepted?
BuckBooth sizes and frames your photo to the published rules and checks head size, position, straightness, sharpness and background. The issuing authority always makes the final decision, and a few things only you can control: lighting, no glasses, a neutral expression and a recent photo. If your photo is rejected, we refund you — see the refund policy.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Your photo is processed inside your browser. Our servers only see the PayPal order and an anonymous fingerprint of the file that ties your purchase to that photo.
Is this a subscription?
No. It is a single $1 payment through PayPal for one photo, and nothing is charged again.
What do I get for $1?
For one photo: a digital JPEG in the exact size for your document and a 4×6 inch print sheet with several copies and cut marks. You can switch documents and download again for the same photo.
How do I pay?
With PayPal. PayPal may also offer debit or credit card checkout without an account, depending on your country.
Can I use it for a Canadian passport?
Not for printed Canadian passport photos: Canada requires photos taken by a commercial photographer with their details on the back. BuckBooth does not offer Canadian specifications.
