Will my photo be accepted?
BuckBooth sizes and frames your photo to the published rules and checks head size, position, straightness, sharpness and background. The issuing authority always makes the final decision, and a few things only you can control: lighting, no glasses, a neutral expression and a recent photo. If your photo is rejected, we refund you — see the refund policy.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Your photo is processed inside your browser. Our servers only see the PayPal order and an anonymous fingerprint of the file that ties your purchase to that photo.
Is this a subscription?
No. It is a single $1 payment through PayPal for one photo, and nothing is charged again.
What do I get for $1?
For one photo: a digital JPEG in the exact size for your document and a 4×6 inch print sheet with several copies and cut marks. You can switch documents and download again for the same photo.
How do I pay?
With PayPal. PayPal may also offer debit or credit card checkout without an account, depending on your country.
Can I use it for a Canadian passport?
Not for printed Canadian passport photos: Canada requires photos taken by a commercial photographer with their details on the back. BuckBooth does not offer Canadian specifications.
I'm renewing my U.S. passport online. Should I use BuckBooth?
For online renewal, the State Department asks for your original, unedited photo and lets you crop it inside the application. Upload the original photo from your phone. You can still use BuckBooth's free checks to see whether your photo is framed well before you upload it.
Can I make photos for my children?
Yes. Babies and children follow the same rules; for infants, lay them on a plain white sheet. Each child is a separate photo and a separate $1 purchase.
I paid but closed the page. How do I get my files?
Open the same photo file again, then use Already paid for this photo? and enter the PayPal order ID from your PayPal receipt. See Support.
Why does it say checkout isn't available in my country?
We currently sell in a limited set of countries while we set up tax registration elsewhere. You can still use the free framing and checks.
Do you keep my payment details?
No. PayPal handles the payment. We receive the order ID, amount and status from PayPal to confirm your purchase.
